Migrate Static IP Addresses Between Platforms
Need to move your static IP addresses from one platform to another? Whether you're migrating from Heroku to Vercel, Heroku to Fly.io, or between any of our supported platforms, we make the process as seamless as possible!
Overview
Your static IP addresses can be transferred between platforms without any downtime. Your existing platform will continue working throughout the migration process until you're ready to complete the switch. This means you can test your new deployment thoroughly before decommissioning the old one.
This migration process works for both HTTP/HTTPS proxies and SOCKS proxies, ensuring a smooth transition regardless of which proxy type you're using.
Supported Platforms
You can migrate static IP addresses between any of our supported platforms:
- Heroku
- Vercel
- Fly.io
- Render
- Koyeb
- Any other platform where you're using Fixie
Migration Steps
There are 4 simple steps available
Step 1: You Set Up New Platform
First, create and configure your account on the new platform where you want to use your static IP addresses. Deploy your application and ensure it's running correctly.
Important for Heroku users: If you're currently using Fixie through the Heroku add-on, you'll need to create an account at app.usefixie.com before initiating the migration. This is required because Heroku manages the add-on integration separately. If you're migrating from any other platform, you should already have an app.usefixie.com account and can skip this step.
Step 2: You Initiate the Migration Request
To begin the migration process, you should already have setup new platform (see above) and be ready to move! Then, please send us email from our Contact page including the following information:
- Your current platform (e.g., "Heroku") and proxy details for the proxy being moved.
- Your new platform (e.g., "Vercel", "Fly.io", "Render", etc.) and proxy details for the proxy you'll want to assign the IP addresses to.
- (Optional) Any specific requirements or timeline concerns
Step 3: We Process Your Migration
Our team will migrate your IP addresses to your new platform as soon as possible. The exact timing varies, but we prioritize migration requests to minimize any delays.
Your existing platform will continue working with your static IP addresses during this process as IP addresses are copied rather than re-assigned. There's no rush to shut down your old deployment.
Step 4. You Test Your New Platform
Once we notify you that the migration is complete, please test your application on the new platform. And that's it!
That's it!
